マタイによる福音書

 7:7 求めよ、そうすれば、与えられるであろう。捜せ、そうすれば、見いだすであろう。門をたたけ、そうすれば、あけてもらえるであろう。

 7:8 すべて求める者は得、捜す者は見いだし、門をたたく者はあけてもらえるからである。

 7:9 あなたがたのうちで、自分の子がパンを求めるのに、石を与える者があろうか。

 7:10 魚を求めるのに、へびを与える者があろうか。

 7:11 このように、あなたがたは悪い者であっても、自分の子供には、良い贈り物をすることを知っているとすれば、天にいますあなたがたの父はなおさら、求めてくる者に良いものを下さらないことがあろうか。

 7:12 だから、何事でも人々からしてほしいと望むことは、人々にもそのとおりにせよ。これが律法であり預言者である。

 7:13 狭い門からはいれ。滅びにいたる門は大きく、その道は広い。そして、そこからはいって行く者が多い。

 7:14 命にいたる門は狭く、その道は細い。そして、それを見いだす者が少ない。

 7:7 "Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.

  7:8 For everyone who asks will receive, and anyone who seeks will find, and the door will be opened to those who knock.

  7:9 Would any of you who are fathers give your son a stone when he asks for bread?

  7:10 Or would you give him a snake when he asks for a fish?

  7:11 As bad as you are, you know how to give good things to your children. How much more, then, will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

  7:12 "Do for others what you want them to do for you: this is the meaning of the Law of Moses and of the teachings of the prophets.

  7:13 "Go in through the narrow gate, because the gate to hell is wide and the road that leads to it is easy, and there are many who travel it.

  7:14 But the gate to life is narrow and the way that leads to it is hard, and there are few people who find it.
